Across 2022 and 2023, Magnum needed more than a conventional product campaign. Each season turned participation into a complete game economy: purchases, referrals, missions, and repeat play generated resources that players could use to compete for branded rewards. The mechanic changed between seasons, but the journey stayed connected from product purchase to digital play and physical prize fulfilment.
For the 2022 Magnum Pleasure Auction, I helped build an always-live bidding platform where a new prize auction opened every hour. Players earned Magnum Gold Coins through daily check-ins, missions, milestones, referrals, promo codes, and verified purchase receipts, then competed over Socket.IO in real time. Winners moved directly into digital or QR-assisted physical prize redemption, while receipt history and prize inventory kept the full journey visible inside the app.
The 2023 Magnum Classic Remix Arcade replaced bidding with two branded arcade games: Maze Runner and Wall Cracker. Players used chances earned from product purchases and missions, chased high scores, collected Magnum Gold Coins, and competed on daily leaderboards. I integrated the Cocos-powered games with the Vue application, passing live game state, scoring events, lives, milestones, and rewards between the canvas and campaign platform.
The second season expanded the O2O loop with receipt photo verification, arcade QR scanning, promo codes, referrals, daily bonuses, missions, mystery boxes, prize restocks, and both downloadable and physical rewards. A dedicated physical arcade mode connected onsite machines back to player accounts through generated QR codes, letting scores and rewards continue beyond the web experience.
The two seasons showed how one brand could sustain engagement through completely different game formats without losing the commercial loop behind them. Magnum moved from hourly real-time auctions to competitive arcade play while preserving the same measurable path from purchase and participation to repeat visits, reward earning, and prize redemption.
